Gisborne Angus studs Kaharau and Orere have jointly purchased a bull from Shian Angus in Taumarunui for $92,000.

“Shian 807 caught our eye at the Taumarunui Bull Walk in mid-May.

He is the complete package,” said Kaharau studmaster Penny Hoogerbrug.

“He has a great spread of EBV (estimated breeding values) data, is very well balanced and very correct, thick and deep and 100 percent structurally sound.

“We talk about bulls that ‘tick all the boxes’ and he certainly does that — a great combination of phenotype and performance.

“We are really excited about getting him home and are looking forward to his progeny on the ground in 2023.”
