GENERATION
ANGUS
FOR BETTER BALANCED BEEF
The future of any industry lies in the enthusiasm of the next generation – and in the Angus world we aim to start ’em at any age!
Generation Angus is a pathway for AngusNZ’s exciting and innovative next generation.
From events, education and development through to scholarships and exchange programmes, Generation Angus provides numerous opportunities for young enthusiasts to pursue a future in farming. If you’re a not-so-young farmer with youngsters at foot, think about encouraging them to take up some of the opportunities on offer. Showing cattle can also be a great introduction to livestock farming, and there’s a load of fun to be had. APPLY TO INVESTIGATE THE BEEF INDUSTRY
Do you have an interest in investigating different production systems around the globe? Would you like to experience the production of Angus cattle in landscapes and environments differing from that of New Zealand? If your answer is yes, then the TransTasman Exchange is the opportunity for you.
Applications are now open for the 2024 TransTasman Exchange.
Annually, an Generation Angus member aged between 18 and 30 years of age is selected and provided opportunity to travel around Australia, where they will spend at least two weeks touring the Australia beef industry.
The exchange covers return airfares for the recipient to travel to Australia, $2000 spending money and assistance to organize a tour to various seed-stock and commercial breeders across the country.
The Generation Angus, AngusNZ Members, Angus Australia members and affiliated groups can provide assistance and insight to develop a tour to the recipient’s interest.
“The TransTasman Exchange provides an excellent opportunity for a young Angus breeder to experience the production systems and environments of Australia, learning from their experiences and the connections they develop along the way, to be more well-rounded producers in their own operations.”
