Submit your PBB DNA test the easy way – through Helical
The PBB DNA team have been working to bring you the DNA Test Request online ordering feature via the Helical system interface.

- This newly available feature for clients DNA testing through PBB removes the need to fill out the DNA application form.
- Animals that require testing can simply be selected from your ownership list (alternative upload options available for animals not yet registered)
- See your results in real-time as they become available
We have created supporting How-To documents to take you step by step through the process.
DNA Reminders
DNA Cutoff for 2025:
A reminder that the cutoff for DNA samples is 5th December – the next batch will not be sent until 16th January. If you are storing samples, store them in a cool place, but do not freeze.
Sending samples – we recommend couriering your samples to us – there is no need to include a cool pack and these often get damaged in transit. The correct addresses are:
Courier – 75 South Street, Feilding, 4702.
Mail – If you are mailing the samples, then please use our PO Box address: PO BOX 503, Feilding 4740
Test Request – We are pleased to see some clients starting to use the test request function. This is available to Angus and Simmental breeders, and we encourage you to give this a go when submitting your samples.
The Tipsheet can be found here:
IMPORTANT
Genomics
Should you notice your animals not displaying “Genomics” as a Trait Analysed online following SNP testing, please contact your DNA service provider.
Contact Rochelle, PBB’s Genetics Data Analyst, if the animals were tested through Neogen & PBB (alternative service providers must be contacted directly).
Diagnostic reports
Please respond to Rochelle if she contacts you regarding animals that have been identified in the diagnostic report. These animals’ EBVs have not been genomically enhanced (and do not display “Genomics” as a Trait Analysed) so it is important we work together to get these issues resolved!
