PBBnz are excited to welcome Harry Faas as their new General Manager. Harry’s passions are information technology and people. Having created and sold startup tech organisations, held executive positions in a number of organisations and having been involved in IT projects both in NZ and Australia, Harry brings fantastic opportunities and vision to merging technology with agriculture.
My name is Harry Faas and I was born in the Manuwatu and grew up in Holland. Technology grabbed my interest at a young age, so I studied mechanical engineering before I moved back to New Zealand to live and work on the family farm. Programming computers has always been one of my hobbies which started my career developing software for New Zealand businesses. After being involved in 3 software development start-ups, I decided to move into education. Over the last 10 years, I have been in leading IT roles for both UCOL as the IT Director and Massey University as an Associate Director.
My home is the Manawatu where I live with my wife and two kids, Emily and Max. I’m proud to join PBBnz as the General Manager. I believe change is happening in the agriculture sector due to new technologies being introduced to market at a rapid pace. I’d like to explore these opportunities to increase outcomes for both New Zealand farmers and PBBnz.
