Wairarapa Herd Tour Auction
Once again the response from the breeders has been overwhelming for the Auction held during the Wairarapa Ward Herd Tour in April and over $10,000 raised for the Youth Trust.
We thank you all for your continued loyal support of the Youth Trust and a special thanks to Brian Diamond for auctioneering on the night and making the auction such a success.
East Coast Angus Breeders Female Auction at 2008 Beef Expo At the Beef Expo held last month members of the East Coast Angus Breeders donated heifers to be auctioned and the proceeds donated to the Youth Trust.
The success of this auction was phenomenal and over $30,000 was donated to the Youth Trust. We sincerely thank Kaharau, Kenhardt, Turihaua, Turiroa, Waimata and Whangara Angus Studs for their generous donations of heifers and support of the Trust.
Jenny Ogle
Thank you to all the families who generously hosted Jenny Ogle from Scotland during her three weeks here in May. Jenny participated in the Future Beef Hoof and Hook competition at Beef Expo and was also hosted by LIC in Hamilton for three days.
Jenny was hosted by members in the Manawatu, East Coast and South Auckland Wards which enabled her to see some of the North Island during her short time in New Zealand.
Australian Exchangee – Jasmine Nixon
The Trust has recently been notified by Angus Youth Australia that Jasmine Nixon has been chosen to travel here later this year.
Jasmine comes from New South Wales southern highlands and has extensive Angus experience through her family’s commercial Angus herd and through many years showing cattle.
We are unsure of a definite date when she will be here but would like to have a list of potential hosts, we will confirm dates when we have more information from Australia.
If any South Island families are willing to host Jasmine please contact Kaylene at the office.
