FMG BULL EVALUATION UNIT SPRING OPEN DAY SUMMARY
On this sunny Spring Tuesday, 60 industry people took the opportunity to come and view the 31 bulls at the 2009 – 2010 FMG Angus NZ Bull Evaluation Unit that are grazing on Maurice Berwick’s property on Milson Line, Palmerston North.
Following a sustained wet period and a mix of very changeable weather conditions, those that visited would have been very pleased with the condition of the bulls on show.
It is some 5 months since their arrival and performance wise they have (on average) put on 229 kgs in 143 days at a daily gain of 1.6kgs / day, today weighing in at an average of 578kgs.

Thanks as always must go to the many companies that support our Bull Evaluation Unit and this open day is always a great opportunity for them to rub shoulders with the breeders and beef farmers who visit to check out the Angus genetics on show on this day.
