Beef Expo a black-out!!

Above: William Wilding in the sale ring with Te Mania Jonah 13588 and the PGG Wrightson Champion of Champions trophy.

Te Pari Beef Expo 2015 has been a fantastic time for Angus! As a breed, we have done extremely well in the show ring, in the sale ring and on the plates, with Forbes & Angus Cameron from Ashhurst (Angus) taking away the Grand Champion prize at the 2015 Beef + Lamb New Zealand Steak of Origin Awards on Monday night.

Te Mania Jonah 13588, an Angus bull bred by the Wilding family of Parnassus, took out the breed's Supreme Champion award and then went on to be judged as Champion of Champions on Tuesday. This outstanding animal, which has been grazing at the Angus Bull Unit in Feilding since late 2014, then went on to fetch a sale price of $35,000 in the auction ring.

We had a number of other bulls fetching five-figure price tags, an encouraging outcome for all registered Angus breeders.

A more detailed account of the results is outlined below.
