VERY GOOD SALE FOR ANGUS NZ AT BEEF EXPO
Selling close to forty rising two year bulls at the 2010 Beef Expo in Feilding this week, Breed Executive Rob Wylie was delighted with the Angus NZ 90th National sale result commenting, “A sale average of $8750 up from $6648 in 2009, is very satisfying for the breed, there was a large buyer presence at the Angus auction reflecting in the stud and commercial popularity of the breed as preferred sire of choice”
He goes on to say “Programmes initiated by Angus NZ over recent years have all broadened the options for commercial farmers to take advantage of Angus genetics”.
As have the Hereford breed, Angus NZ has introduced a Select Sire class to their national sale. These are two year bulls, which have been proven performers as yearlings.
Mr Wylie comments ”we want to drive up the performance to ensure the genetically top performing bulls are on offer at expo”.
